hello Denver!
just 3 more days here till road trip to Portland to visit my sister boi Rae and then on to Napa!!!!
As all my belongings have miraculously fit into my Corolla, I debate whether to ask my Jcrew store to ship me the baby 2qt Crockpot I gifted them for holidays and inventory…and realize it’s not worth the shipping!
Rich and I are loving the neighborhood vibes of Wheat Ridge, where we are renting an adorable open-air little house, while we get our shit together, for me more than Rich. I have the time to get organized and re-pack properly so all my belongings are no longer lost in a sea of black plastic trash bags!!!
We all know that all work and no play makes anyone super dull, so when Rich and I are done with our am duties we find ourselves bopping around to a local brewery or independent restaurant. Last night we devoured West 29th’s Spicy Cioppino which had me swooning while Rich enjoyed the house-made linguine in his stroganoff.

After supper, we walked over to Joyland Brewery, where we both loved the views from the rooftop patio overlooking Sloans Lake and people-watched the other guests. My favorite is the newly dating couples, and older dating folks- love and war, it’s all so good to watch over sips of Wine-O-Mite for me and Rice Rice Baby for my man. And as for us oldies, while we hardly qualify for meet-cute, we are still falling in love with each other over little things.

In between cooking and making snacks (which is my fav thing to do ever) I have been meandering around the Denver Botanical Garden. They have an amazing Japanese Garden and Lily pad pond-
This little bunny wasn’t a bit afraid of me, though I sat right next to her and held a conversation on how yummy the clover looked after the recent rain. Ms. Bunny took it all in stride and went about munching her way to the gardeners’ carefully curated ornamentals, without a damn consideration. It was pure joy to behold! If we could all just take what life gives us constantly, daily, as our given right to being alive in this world without a 2nd thought.
I picked up a few books in the free-to members Helen Fowler Library which I will get into after this:
